Administrative & Children Assistant
Job Type: Full-Time (35 Hours/Week)
Washington Christian Missionary Alliance Church is seeking a dedicated and organized Administrative & Children Assistant. This full-time role involves approximately 20 hours of administrative support and 15 hours of children’s ministry assistance each week. This time ratio can be adjusted depending on special events and other needs or circumstances.
The administrative responsibilities include answering and directing phone calls and emails, managing the church calendar, coordinating office volunteers, monitoring office supplies, assisting with special projects, and preparing for staff meetings. Additional duties encompass updating weekly attendance for various groups, supporting church-wide events, managing communication tasks, coordinating facility use for both internal and external groups, and overseeing facility-related activities such as key card management and pantry supplies.
In the children’s ministry role, the assistant will assist the Children’s Ministry Director with the many facets of the ministry. Some duties could include: communicating with teachers, parents, and children, managing family information in the church database, preparing and maintaining Planning Center schedules, assisting with the preparation of weekly lesson materials for both Sunday and Wednesday (AWANA) classes and ensuring classrooms are ready. The position also involves helping to organize special children’s events like Vacation Bible School and other seasonal events.
The ideal candidate will have proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Docs, strong organizational and communication skills, and experience in both administrative and children’s ministry roles. This role requires the ability to multitask and manage time effectively, ensuring smooth operations within the church office and children’s ministry.
